Gaouta, whose real name is Sofia Fahli, is an electronic musician and composer based in Casablanca. She began her career as a drummer in bands in France and Belgium, before launching her solo project. Passionate about rhythm and sound experimentation, she developed a singular style blending 80s analog synthesizers, Arabic chants and live drums. This fusion gives birth to a musical current she calls arabwave, combining melancholy and emotional power. Composing alone, Gaouta embodies a rare artistic independence. She expresses herself in Darija, bringing a deeply authentic Moroccan touch to new wave.
