Deena Abdelwahed

Born in 1989 in Doha, Qatar, to Tunisian parents who were nurses, Deena Abdelwahed discovered music early on, through artists such as Mariah Carey, Marilyn Manson and J Dilla, then house music, footwork and juke3. After graduating from high school in 2008, she moved to Tunis to study fine arts, taking up electronic music and jazz. In 2011, she joined the WFOB collective and became a DJ at Plug. In 2015, she appeared in the film"À peine j'ouvre les yeux" and moved to Toulouse, joining the Arabstazy platform. In 2018, she launched her debut album"Khonnar" and became a resident at the Concrete club in Paris. She performs at major festivals and collaborates with Fever Ray, identifying herself as a lesbian and queer activist.
