Freestyle Fellowship

Freestyle Fellowship is an American hip-hop group from Los Angeles, California. Formed in the late 1980s by Aceyalone, Myka 9, and Self Jupiter at Good Life Cafe, they initially started as MC Aces before adding P.E.A.C.E. to form Freestyle Fellowship. The group released their debut studio album To Whom It May Concern... in 1991, followed by Innercity Griots in 1993. After a hiatus due to Self Jupiter's incarceration, they reunited in 1998 and released the EP Shockadoom in 2002. Notable albums include Temptations (2001) and The Promise (2011). Freestyle Fellowship is known for incorporating jazz rhythms into their raps, often described as having an improvisational flow similar to a jazz solo. Their work has been featured on various compilations and collaborations, including appearances on albums by Abstract Rude & Tribe Unique and Nobody. On October 24, 2025, Mtulazaji Issan Davis, better known as P.E.A.C.E., died at the age of 51.
