Francis Mercier

Francis Mercier is a Haitian-American DJ, producer and entrepreneur, born in Port-au-Prince. He moved to New York in his teens and studied applied mathematics and economics at Brown University. With a passion for electronic music, he began organizing student parties before moving into DJing and music production, influenced in particular by figures from the trance and house scenes. In 2014, he founded the Deep Root Records label, which quickly became an influential platform in the house and deep house scene, showcasing numerous emerging artists and racking up hundreds of millions of streams worldwide. Francis Mercier's musical style is characterized by a fusion of afro house, deep house, tech house and traditional elements from African, Caribbean and Oriental music. He has collaborated with artists such as Diplo, Major Lazer, Magic System, Amadou & Mariam, Roland Clark and Blond:ish, and released tracks on renowned labels such as Sony, Universal, Armada, Mad Decent, Higher Ground and Insomniac. He made a name for himself with tracks such as "Premier gaou" with Magic System (2021), remixed by NiteFreak, then "Sete" (2022), with Blond:ish, and "Kamili " (2023), with Nitefreak and Idd Aziz, which met with great success on the international afro house scene. After other singles including "Found Love", the DJ reunites with Magic System for a new version of the festive hit "Magic in the Air".
