Eve's Plum was an American alternative rock group formed in 1991 in Newâ¯York City by brothers Michael Kotch on guitar, Benjamin Kotch on drums, and singer Colleen Fitzpatrick, who later achieved solo success as Vitaminâ¯C; the trio recruited bassist Chris Giammalvo before replacing him with Theoâ¯Mack in 1994. The band signed with Sonyâs 550â¯Music/Epic in 1992 and released their debut album Envy in 1993, produced by Roger Greenawalt, followed by the single "Blue", which appeared on Beavis andâ¯Butthead but did not chart; the subsequent single "Die Like Someone" also failed to enter the Billboard charts. In 1994 the group issued the limited EP I Want It All Alive and later that year released the single "I Want It All", which reached Numberâ¯30 on the Modern Rock chart and Numberâ¯78 on the UK Singles Chart, and was featured in the film The Next Karate Kid. Their second album, Cherry Alive, debuted in Septemberâ¯1995, yielding singles such as "Jesus Loves You (Not As Much As I Do)", "Wishing the Day Away", "Cherry Alive", and "Fairy Princess", none of which achieved commercial success; the label dropped the band in 1996. Eve's Plum continued touring independently until their final performance in Albany, Newâ¯York, which was recorded as Live in Albany before the group disbanded in 1998, after which Colleen Fitzpatrick pursued a solo career as Vitaminâ¯C.
