Diarrhea Planet, a six-piece garage punk band from Nashville, Tennessee, United States, was formed in 2009 by singer-guitarist Jordan Smith and original guitarist Evan Donahue. The band's early breakthrough came with the self-released EP Aloha! in 2009, which garnered over 10,000 free downloads. They signed to Infinity Cat Recordings and released their debut full-length album, Loose Jewels, in 2011. Their 2013 release, I'm Rich Beyond Your Wildest Dreams, produced by Kevin S. McMahon, brought significant attention, leading to appearances at festivals like SXSW, Bonnaroo, and Governors Ball Music Festival. The album featured notable tracks such as "Separations", which was used in the soundtrack of the HBO show Animals. In 2016, Diarrhea Planet announced their third album, Turn to Gold, describing it as more mature than previous works. The band disbanded in 2018 but reunited for two shows in November 2022 and performed at Bonnaroo in June 2023.
