Darkseed

Darkseed, a German gothic metal band from Munich, was formed in 1992. Initially focusing on death metal, Darkseed released two demo tapes and an EP titled Romantic Tales before transitioning to gothic metal with their debut album Midnight Solemnly Dance. The group signed with Nuclear Blast for their second album Spellcraft, which marked a significant breakthrough in 1997. Following this success, Darkseed continued releasing albums such as Give Me Light and Diving Into Darkness, both of which were critically acclaimed. In 2003, the band released Astral Adventures. However, internal changes led to the departure of vocalist Stefan Hertrich in 2006, resulting in the group's dissolution. Darkseed reformed in 2008 with Harald Winkler as the new lead vocalist and released Poison Awaits in 2010. The band became inactive in 2014.
