Heavy metal âsupergroupâ CyHra formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2016. The group was founded by vocalist Jake E Lundberg (formerly of Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames) and initially featured bassist Peter Iwers (ex-In Flames), Finnish guitarist Euge Valovirta (formerly of Shining), and German drummer Alex Landenburg (formerly of Annihilator and Axxis, and currently of Kamelot), The group released their debut album, Letters to Myself, in 2017. However, a year later, bassist Peter Iwers left the band and, instead of replacing him immediately, guitarist Euge Valovirta took over the bass position on their studio recordings and Mr. ASUS became their touring bassist. The group also brought in guitarist Marcus Sunesson (The Crown / Engel) as a live guitarist in 2018, eventually making him a full-time member in 2020. Their second album, No Halos in Hell (2019) was a critical success and won the Best Album of 2019 award from Japanâs Rock TV. After a four-year wait, Cyhra returned with their third album, The Vertigo Trigger, in 2023. Following the release of the single "Parasite" with Dead by April and The Day We Left Earth in June 2024, CyHra returned with their fourth album Requiem for a Pipe Dream, issued in June 2026.
