Cute Is What We Aim For

Cute is What We Aim For was an American pop-punk band from Buffalo, New York. Formed in January 2005 by childhood friends Shaant Hacikyan, Jeff Czum, Tom Falcone and Fred Cimato, the group gained exposure through demos on Myspace and PureVolume. Their breakthrough came with winning PureVolume's online Battle of the Bands competition in spring 2005. In November 2005, they signed to Fueled by Ramen. The band released their debut album The Same Old Blood Rush With a New Touch in 2006, which debuted at number 75 on the Billboard 200. Notable singles from this album include "There's a Class for This" and "Newport Living". In 2008, they released their second album Rotation, featuring the single "Practice Makes Perfect". The band disbanded in 2009 after several lineup changes but reunited in 2010 to 2014 and 2016 to 2019.
