Less well known internationally than other southern rap figures, Chingy has nonetheless enjoyed great success in the United States. Jackpot in 2003 reached No. 2, Powerballin' in 2004 peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard charts. Hoodstar in 2006 held steady at No. 9, while Hate It or Love It in 2008 fell heavily to No. 84. Success and Failure, due in 2009, attempts to reverse the trend.
