CamelPhat

CamelPhat is an electronic duo formed by DJs Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala in Liverpool, England, in 2008. Before working together, the duo's members both made their own contributions to British dance culture, with Dave Whelan hosting a popular club night in Liverpool and Mike Di Scala landing a number of a Top 40 hits in the UK as a member of the trance group Ultrabeat. Although singles like "Paradigm," "Constellations," and "Make 'Em Dance" only scraped the lower reaches of the Belgian charts, CamelPhat eventually enjoyed Top 40 success, too—not only in the band's native England, but also in America, where the duo's Grammy-nominated single "Cola" topped the US Billboard Dance Club Chart in 2017. Featuring vocals from Elderbrook, "Cola" also reached Number 3 on the UK Dance Chart and Number 1 in Hungary. Dark Matter, CamelPhat's debut album, was released in 2020, featuring additional international hits like the platinum-certified "Panic Room" and the Jake Bugg collaboration "Be Someone." A handful of non-album singles emerged in 2021 and 2022, including "Critical" with Green Velvet (2021) and "Believe" with Mathame (2022). They followed up their debut in 2023 with sophomore effort Spiritual Milk, which notably repeated the same chart positions as their debut: 23 in the UK and 39 in Ireland. The LP spawned a number of singles including "Higher" with London Grammar and "Hope" with Max Milner.
