Deadmau5

Deadmau5 (it's pronounced "dead mouse") is the professional name of Toronto DJ Joel Zimmerman, a DJ/remixer who was ranked Number 6 in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs in 2009. He regards himself first and foremost as a producer and, learning piano as a child, was raised on pop and rock music (he was named after American singer Billy Joel). Getting into the club scene, Deadmau5 played his first DJ set at the Ministry of Sound in London and developed his own progressive house technique, becoming a favourite at Ibiza and featuring on various dance compilations. Debut album Get Scraped was released in 2006 and he has worked extensively with other DJs such as Kaskade, MC Flipside and Steve Duda. Deadmau5's 2008 remix of The Longest Road by Morgan Page featuring Lissie was nominated for a Grammy Award. The same year he released the album Random Album Title, initially on download only, in 2008, as well as the singles Faxing Berlin, Not Exactly and I Remember, with Kaskade. Deadmau5 has his own mau5 clothing line and in 2010 performed at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
