Breland

With a unique sound influenced by country, rap, gospel, and R&B, Breland earned a platinum-certified crossover hit in 2019, when his debut single "My Truck" reached Number 24 on the US Country chart and Number 46 on the US Hip-Hop chart. He was born as "Daniel Gerard Breland" on July 18, 1995, in Burlington Township, New Jersey, and raised by minister parents who introduced their son to gospel music. Years later, he made his musical debut with "My Truck," whose cross-cultural sound found an audience amongst country-trap fans. Released in 2019, the song repaired on Breland's self-titled debut EP, which was released in May 2020 and reached Number 48 on the Hot Country Albums chart. A second EP, Rage & Sorrow, followed one month later. That September, country icon Keith Urban released the album The Speed of Now Part 1, featuring Breland's contributions as both a co-writer and guest vocalist. Urban returned the favor by appearing on "Throw It Back," a duet that was released in 2021 as one of the first singles from Breland's forthcoming debut album, Cross Country. The song reached Number 38 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs, marking Breland's second Top 40 hit on the same. Scheduled to arrive during the summer of 2022, Cross Country was preceded by three additional collaborations. Mickey Guyton teamed up with Breland for the album's title track, while Nelly and Blanco Brown both appeared on the song "High Horse." Although neither song charted in America, a third duet — the gospel-flavored "Praise the Lord," recording alongside Thomas Rhett — climbed to Number 21 in 2022, months before Cross Country's release.
