Boysetsfire

BoySetsFire is an American post-hardcore band formed in October 1994 in Newark, Delaware. The ensemble was founded by Nat Gray, Chad Istvan, Josh Latshaw, Matt Krupanski, and Darrell Hyde. The group released the EP This Crying, This Screaming, My Voice Is Being Born in 1996 and its debut album, The Day the Sun Went Out, in 1997 through Initial Records. After Hyde was replaced by Rob Avery, the band released After the Eulogy in 2000. Subsequent recordings included Tomorrow Come Today (2003) and The Misery Index: Notes from the Plague Years (2006). The group retired in 2007 but resumed activity in October 2010. The band released the albums While a Nation Sleeps... (2013) and Boysetsfire (2015), followed by a split recording with All Else Failed in 2024. The ensemble utilized politically driven lyrical themes throughout its career. Matt Krupanski died on March 28, 2026.
