Bonde do Forró, founded in São Paulo in 2003 by singer, producer, and entrepreneur DJ Maluco, is a Brazilian electronic forró band known for its unique blend of forró rhythms with sertanejo influences. The group's initial formation included vocalists Lauro (dubbed "Bruno do Forró" for his resemblance to Bruno of Bruno & Marrone), Miguelzinho ("Zezé do Forró" for his similarity to Zezé Di Camargo), Anne Liss, and Emerson Leone. Their debut album, A Locomotiva Quente do Sucesso! (2003), did not achieve significant commercial success. However, their second album, Arrebenta Coração! (2005), released under MD Music, sold over 200,000 copies, marking their breakthrough. The band's innovative approach involved reinterpreting popular sertanejo songs in a forró style, leading to hits like "Por Que Brigamos?", "Milk Shake", "Os Corações Não São Iguais", and "Sempre Seu Homem." Their 2008 live album and DVD, Ao Vivo em Barretos, recorded at the renowned Festa de Peão de Barretos, further solidified their popularity. Bonde do Forró's discography includes notable albums such as É Amor Demais! Ao Vivo em SP - Volume 3 (2006), Agarra Agarra! Ao Vivo em Vitória - Volume 4 (2007), and De Volta às Origens (2017). The band has performed extensively across Brazil, including major festivals like São João de Caruaru and São João de Campina Grande, and has completed multiple tours in the United States. Their energetic performances, featuring a full band and choreographed dancers, have contributed to their widespread acclaim and over a million copies sold throughout their career.
