Yeahman

Yeahman (real name Jean Dasso) is a French multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ who built an international profile by fusing electronic production with Latin American and Afro-diasporic rhythms. He began releasing music in the mid-2010s, introducing his sound on the EP Transborda (2017) and gaining early traction in 2018 via the Botanas Series, which included “Miniyamba” with Mina Shankha and Hajna. After the single “Sakoneta” in 2020, Yeahman issued his debut album Ostriconi on Wonderwheel Recordings in January 2021, a project recorded between Toulouse, Marseille, Dakar, and Naples and featuring collaborators such as Mina Shankha, Hajna, and El Búho; the album included “Cariñito,” which became one of his most streamed tracks. The record’s life extended with Ostriconi (Remixes) in 2022—highlighted by “Cariñito (Goldie B Remix)”—and he continued to expand his palette on the Aven EP (2022) with ORSO, including pieces like “Almadies.” In 2023, he returned with the five-track Hierba Mala alongside Argentine singer Aluminé Guerrero and singles such as “Verte,” consolidating a folktronica-meets-club aesthetic grounded in hand percussion, woodwinds, and subtle synth work.
