Xan Tyler

Xanthe Tyler, born 5 March 1973 in London, is a British singer‑guitarist who began as a backing vocalist in South London. Her breakthrough came with the synth‑pop duo Technique, where the single "Sun is Shining" reached Number 64 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1999. Xan Tyler followed with "You & Me" (UK Number 56, August 1999) and later collaborated with Mad Professor on the projects Dub Showcase (1999) and Mission Control. In 2021 she released Clarion Call with Mad Professor, receiving favourable reviews, and in 2024 issued her debut solo album Holding Up Half the Sky, which entered the Official Scottish Albums Chart at Number 4, the UK Vinyl Chart at Number 10 and the Independent Albums Chart at Number 12. The album’s twelve tracks each narrate a woman’s story, one inspired by Molly Drake. In 2025, she collaborated with the American-Dutch singer-songwrither Dusty Stray for the joint album Home.
