Wei

Wei (often stylized as "WEi") is the first boy band from the South Korean agency Oui Entertainment. Even though they made their official debut in October 2020, all of the group's members— Jang Dae-hyeon, Kim Dong-han, Yoo Yong-ha, Kim Yo-han, Kang Seok-hwa and Kim Jun-seo—had either participated in survival reality shows (Produce 101, YG Treasure Box, Under Nineteen) or had previous experience in short-lived boy bands (JBJ, Rainz, 1the9, and X1). In May 2020, Oui Entertainment introduced the group through a series of individual videos under the temporary name OUIBOYS. After changing its name to Wei, the six-piece released its first EP Identity: First Sight in October 2020, which hit number 3 on South Korea's Circle Chart. Preceded by the single "All or Nothing," a second EP titled Identity: Challenge hit retail in 2021, followed closely by Identity: Action later that year. Following the release of their third extended play Love Pt.1: First Love in 2022, Wei embarked on their first world tour throughout the US, Mexico, and South America. Youth, their first Japanese EP, saw the light in August 2022 and climbed to number 44 on the Billboard Japan Albums chart. In October of that year, the extended play Love Pt. 2: Passion peaked at number 3 in South Korea. Love Pt. 3: Eternally, the third and final chapter of the trilogy, came out in 2023 and cracked the Top 10 of the local charts. In 2024, the group held two concerts in Japan before releasing their second Japanese EP, Wave. Driven by its lead single "Fake Love," Wave reached number 13 on Billboard's Japanese Hot Albums chart.
