We the Kings, an American pop/rock band from Bradenton, Florida, formed in 2005 while members were students at King Middle School. Initially known as Broken Image, the group changed their name to We the Kings and began their music career with a series of tours, including performances with Don't Die Cindy and Boys Like Girls. Their debut album, We the Kings, was released on October 2, 2007, under S-Curve Records, reaching number 151 on the Billboard 200. The second single from this album, "Check Yes Juliet", became a minor hit, peaking at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 25 on Pop Songs. In 2009, We the Kings released their second studio album, Smile Kid, which featured collaborations with Demi Lovato on the track "We'll Be a Dream". The album reached number 112 on the Billboard 200. Their subsequent albums include Sunshine State of Mind (2011), Somewhere Somehow (2013), and Stripped (2014). We the Kings also released several EPs, including Secret Valentine (2008) and Party, Fun, Love & Radio (2012). The band's notable singles include "Friday Is Forever" and "Go the Distance" (From "A Whole New Sound"). Throughout their career, We the Kings embarked on numerous tours, including the Warped Tour and various international performances. In 2025 they returned with several singles including "Self Sabotage" and "Are You Here".
