Wax Motif is the stage name of Australian DJ and record producer Danny Chien, born on November 20, 1984. Based in Los Angeles, Motif began his professional recording career in 2008 and released the lead single âCelineâ in 2011. He gained international recognition as a pioneer of the G-house movement, collaborating with artists such as Destructo, Ty Dolla Sign, and Warren G. In 2015, he released the debut EP True Joy on the Mad Decent label, followed by the projects Tokyo and Forsaken in 2017. Motif has performed at major global festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and Splendor in the Grass. In 2020, his collaboration with Diplo, âLove to the worldâ, reached number 48 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. In February 2024, Motif co-wrote and produced the track âBack to Meâ for the Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign album Vultures 1.
