Wale

Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, known professionally as Wale, was born on September 21, 1984, in Washington D.C., United States of America. He is an American rapper and singer of Nigerian descent. Wale's musical journey began with his first single "Rhyme of the Century," which gained local radio play. His breakthrough came in 2006 with the release of "Dig Dug (Shake It)," a song that became popular in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Wale signed with Allido Records in 2007 after being discovered by producer Mark Ronson. He released several mixtapes, including 100 Miles & Running and The Mixtape About Nothing. In 2008, Wale signed a $1.3 million deal with Interscope Records and released his debut album Attention: Deficit, which featured the singles "Chillin," "Pretty Girls," and "World Tour." Despite modest sales, the album received critical acclaim. In 2011, Wale joined Maybach Music Group and contributed to the compilation Self Made Vol. 1. His second album, Ambition, was released in November 2011, followed by The Gifted in June 2013, which debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200. Wale's subsequent albums include The Album About Nothing (2015), Wow... That's Crazy (2019), and Folarin II (2021). Wale signed with Def Jam Recordings after a falling out with Maybach Music Group. 2025 saw the release of Wale's eight studio album, everything is a lot. Notable singles from his discography include "Lotus Flower Bomb," "Bad Girls Club," and "LoveHate Thing."
