v-u-den was a Japanese female idol trio under Hello! Project, active from August 2004 to June 2008. The group was formed around Rika Ishikawa, then a member of Morning Musume, alongside Erika Miyoshi, a finalist from the 2003 Hello! Project New Unit Audition, and Yui Okada, who had just passed the 2004 Hello! Project Egg Audition. The name v-u-den was chosen by producer Tsunku♂ to represent traditional Japanese femininity—beauty, bravery, and the passing down of these values to future generations. v-u-den debuted with the single "Koisuru Angel Heart" in 2004 and released several more singles, including "Hitorijime"(2005), "Kurenai no Kisetsu"(2005) and the energetic "Jajama Paradise"(2007). They also released two studio albums and were active in concerts, television, and musicals. Their final concert tour concluded on June 29, 2008, marking the end of the group’s activities.
