Volkan Konak, born on February 27, 1967, in Maçka, Trabzon, was a celebrated Turkish folk singer and songwriter known for blending traditional Black Sea melodies with contemporary sounds. He studied at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory before launching his music career in the late 1980s. Konak rose to national prominence with his 1994 album Gelir misin Benimle?, followed by a string of successful releases such as Pedaliza (1998), Mora (2006) and Lifor (2012). His music was marked by emotional lyrics, poetic imagery, and strong regional identity, earning him both commercial success and critical acclaim. Volkan Konak passed away on March 31, 2025, leaving behind a significant legacy in Turkish folk and popular music.
