Heme Haci

Hemit Çakan, known professionally as Heme Haci, was born in 1967 in Muradiye, Turkey. He is a singer and musician who learned to play the Saz autodidactically during his childhood. His professional career began with a first-place win at a student singing competition organized by Ses Magazine. Inspired by the Dengbêj, traditional Kurdish folk singers, Haci dedicated himself to mastering this genre. Heme Haci released his debut album Strana Hekîmê Serhedê in 1997, followed by Bargırî in 1998. Notable songs from these early works include "Gulamın" and "Leyla Yar", both released in 1998. His subsequent albums include Ay Dil (2006), Can (2014), and Meşa Azadiyê (2001).
