Founded on August 24, 1996 in Bellevue, Washington, Valve is an American video game and software company, credited with shaping modern video gaming through franchises such as Half-Life, Portal, Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2. In addition to game development, Valve has become known for its cinematic and immersive soundtracks, with acclaimed works such as Fight Songs: The Music of Team Fortress 2 (April 2017), the official DOTA 2 soundtrack (July 2017) and several opuses in the Half-Life series (1998-2022), including Half-Life: Alyx. composed by Mike Morasky.
