Undergrunn is a Norwegian hipâhop group originating from Oslo, formed in 2017 by six rappers: Patrick Bakkeng, Gabriel Doria, Marcos Haugestad, Sverre Skogheim Gudmestad, Jo Almaas Marstein and Jon Ranes. The members, all born in 2002â2004, began collaborating in their teenage years and released the track "Isbil" on SoundCloud in 2018, gaining attention from NRK P3 and prompting the groupâs first EP, UG Sommer. In 2019 the group performed at the Bylarm festival and issued the mixtape UG Klikk. Their debut album, Firenzeâs Finest, followed in September 2020, and the 2021 mixtape Buketter & Ballspill was named one of Aftenpostenâs best albums of the year. 2022 saw the selfâtitled album Undergrunn reach Number One on the Norwegian album charts, with the single "Italia" entering the single charts; the group received a Spellemannprisen Newcomer award that year. 2023âs Egoland topped the album charts and its track "Michelin stjerner" secured the single chart top spot and a P3 Gull Song of the Year award. The 2024 EP Norge Elsker Rap yielded the Number One single "Tenke sjæl" and four other tracks entered the top 40. The groupâs 2025 album Memoarer was released without inâhouse production.
