Twisted Method was an American nu metal band formed in 1998 in Cape Coral, Florida. The group consisted of Mariner High School students Derrick "Tripp" Tribbett on vocals, Ben Goins on drums, Andrew Howard on guitars, and Derek DeSantis on bass. After performing locally for several years, Twisted Method signed a $5.5 million contract with MCA Records in 2002 without having released any demo material. Their debut album, Escape From Cape Coma, was released in 2003 following an extensive tour that included appearances at the second stage of the 2003 Ozzfest. The band toured extensively with acts such as Dope and Motograter before going on hiatus in July 2005 after Howard and Goins left the group. Tragically, Howard died on September 16, 2005. Twisted Method reunited for two shows in 2012 and 2014, with Tony Elchert and Virus filling in for Howard on lead guitar.
