Tommy Sparks

Raised in Stockholm, Daniel Lindegren (aka Tommy Sparks) dropped out of school to go and live with his sister in London when he was 14. Music mad, he formed a duo called Vatican DC with Irish Steve, toured as support to The Prodigy and even stepped in as temporary bass player with Bloc Party. Vatican DC split after three years and, adopting the snappier name of Tommy Sparks, Lindegren started work on his debut solo album, playing all the instruments himself, apart from drums. He formulated an unashamedly poppy dance style built around irresistible hooks and buoyant beats which reaped rich dividends with the 1980s retro single She's Got Me Dancing; the track broke into the UK singles charts in 2009 and has featured on various commercials, notably the iPod Touch and video game FIFA 10. Along with another single I'm A Rope, She's Got Me Dancing also featured on his self-titled debut album (2009).
