Thornhill

Thornhill are a powerhouse of the Australian heavy music scene, hailing from Melbourne and known for pushing the boundaries of metalcore with their cinematic soundscapes, emotive lyricism, and genre-defying style. Since forming in 2015, the band have carved out a distinct identity, blending crushing riffs and aggressive vocals with atmospheric melodies and immersive production. Their breakout EP Butterfly (2018) set the stage for a meteoric rise, but it was their debut full-length album, The Dark Pool (2019), that truly put Thornhill on the map—earning critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase worldwide. The album showcased their ability to balance intensity with elegance, drawing comparisons to genre giants while establishing a sound all their own. In 2022, Thornhill evolved once again with Heroine (#3), a bold and ambitious release that leaned into alternative and nu-metal influences, channelling the theatrical flair of acts like Deftones and Muse. With its cinematic scope and emotionally charged themes, Heroine marked a new era for the band, ushering in the release of their 2025 follow-up, BODIES (#4).
