The War and Treaty

The War and Treaty, a soul‑R&B duo from Albion, Michigan, formed in 2014 after using the earlier stage name Trotter & Blount. They entered the scene with the single "Hi Ho" in 2016 and released the debut EP Down to the River in 2017. Their second album, Healing Tide, arrived in 2018. In 2020 they issued Hearts Town and singles "Five More Minutes" and "Jealousy / Hustlin'". Later releases included the live album Live with The War and Treaty (2025), Lover's Game (2023), and Plus One (2025). They collaborated with Brothers Osborne on a cover of The Rolling Stones' "It's Only Rock'n'Roll (But I Like It)" in 2022, before teaming up with Wilder Woods, Bon Jovi, and Josh Groban in 2024. In 2026, they released the single "If This Day" for The Gray House soundtrack. Following the release of "Don't Say Goodbye" later that year, they issued their fifth album, The Story of Michael and Tanya, featuring Whoopi Goldberg, Valerie June, and Wynonna Judd.
