The Smith Street Band, an Australian rock band formed in 2010 in Melbourne, Victoria, began as a group led by the guitarist and songwriter, Wil Wagner. Their breakthrough came with the 2011 EP South East Facing Wall and the debut album No One Gets Lost Anymore (2011), released on Poison City Records. In 2012, the band launched the album, Sunshine & Technology, followed in 2014 by Throw Me in the River, produced by Jeff Rosenstock and recorded in Forrest, Victoria. The band's single, "Death to the Lads", reached number 21 on Tripleâ¯Jâs Hottestâ¯100. In 2016, the group founded Pool House Records, issuing More Scared of You than You Are of Me (2017) and Don't Waste Your Anger (2020), the latter becoming their ARIA Charts Number 1 album. Recent releases include Life After Football (2022) and Once I Was Wild (2025). The band toured, opened for Midnightâ¯Oil, and earned recognition through multiple AIR and Music Victoria award nominations.
