AJJ, originally known as Andrew Jackson Jihad, was formed in 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona by Sean Bonnette, Ben Gallaty, and drummer Justin James White, who left the band soon after. The duo's initial release was Candy Cigarettes & Cap Guns, an LP released through Audioconfusion Manifesto label in 2005. In 2007, the band released their second full-length album, People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World under Asian Man Records. The following year, they embarked on the "Making Punk Fun Again" tour with notable acts like The Queers and Bomb the Music Industry!. Their third record, Can't Maintain, was released by Asian Man Records in 2009. In 2014, AJJ released Christmas Island under Side One Dummy Records. In 2016, the band officially changed their name to AJJ and released The Bible 2. The band's eighth studio album, Disposable Everything, was released in May 2023 under Hopeless Records.
