The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, a band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in April 1991. Core members Rick White and Terry Thomas began jamming together in 1989 before Mike Farris joined as lead singer in 1991. With Bob Watkins on guitar and Steve Burgess on bass, the band played local venues and gained industry attention through their residency at The Grapevine Cafe. In 1993, they signed with Atlantic Records and released their debut album The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, which reached number 40 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their single "Shakin' the Blues" peaked at number 9 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart. The band's subsequent albums included Magnolia (1996) and Big Wheel (1998). They toured with notable acts before disbanding in 2004. Following their dissolution, Mike Farris released several solo albums. The band reformed for a limited number of performances in 2022.
