The Outhere Brothers were formed in Chicago, Illinois, by songwriter Craig Simkins (born 31â¯Julyâ¯1973) and producer Lamar Mahone (born 12â¯Juneâ¯1970), who met in 1987 and began writing and producing together. Their early recordings found a receptive European club audience, and the duoâs first major hit, "Fukâ¯Uâ¯inâ¯theâ¯Ass", appeared in 1994, charting in the Netherlands and sparking international interest. This momentum led to the release of the "Passâ¯theâ¯Toiletâ¯Paper" single and the album 1â¯Polishâ¯2â¯Biscuitsâ¯&â¯Aâ¯Fishâ¯Sandwich (1994), followed by the album Theâ¯Partyâ¯Album (1995). The duoâs breakthrough came with "Donâtâ¯Stopâ¯(Wiggleâ¯Wiggle)" in 1995, which reached number one in the United Kingdom, and soon after "Boomâ¯Boomâ¯Boom" topped the German chart, entered the European top ten, and sold over one million copies, earning gold and platinum certifications in Australia and France. Their fifth single, "Laâ¯Laâ¯Laâ¯Heyâ¯Hey", sustained their European popularity, while their debut album was later reissued as Theâ¯Partyâ¯Album. After a brief hiatus, they returned in 1997 with "Letâ¯Meâ¯Hearâ¯Youâ¯Sayâ¯Oleâ¯Ole" and the album Theâ¯Otherâ¯Side, which failed to achieve prior success, and the group quietly disbanded. Lamar Mahone released a solo single in 2000, and two bestâof compilations were issued in 2003 and 2004, but the duoâs influence remained largely confined to their midâ1990s European hitâmaking era.
