The Neal Morse Band is an American musical group formed in 2012, led by singer and musician Neal Morse. Morse was born on August 2, 1960, in Van Nuys, California. He began playing piano at age five and guitar at nine, eventually forming the progressive rock band Spock's Beard with his brother Alan in 1992. Their debut album The Light marked a moderate success. In 1999, Morse joined Mike Portnoy, Roine Stolt, and Pete Trewavas to form Transatlantic, releasing five studio albums including SMPT:e and Bridge Across Forever. After becoming a born-again Christian in 2002, Neal Morse left Spock's Beard and began a solo career with concept albums like Testimony. The Neal Morse Band released their debut album The Grand Experiment in 2015. Notable releases include Innocence & Danger (2021).
