The Flower Kings

Since the early nineties, The Flower Kings have played a major role in the progressive rock revival. Strongly influenced by the genre's monsters without being a pale copy of them, the Swedish band has been around since 1994, debuting in 1995 with Back in the World of Adventures. Praised for their style, The Flower Kings quickly developed a large fan base comparable to that of Spock's Beard. Retropolis (1996), Stardust We Are (1997), Space Revolver (2000) and Meet the Flower Kings (2003) did much to raise the band's profile. Always ambitious and keen to produce timeless music, The Flower Kings released Banks of Eden in 2012, recorded in the studio under live conditions. Still in between tours, the band followed up with Desolation Rose (2013), before the original members split up two years later. Following the release of the 10-CD box set A Kingdom of Colours in 2017, the band returned under the name Roine Stolt's the Flower Kings for Manifesto of an Alchemist (2018), before reverting to their original title for subsequent opuses Island (2020), By Royal Decree (2022), Look at You Now (2023) and Love (2025).
