The Moog Cookbook

The Moog Cookbook was an American electronic duo consisting of Meco Eno and Uli Nomi, formed in 1995. The project paid homage to novelty Moog records from the late 1960s and early 1970s by creating cover versions of popular songs using the Moog synthesizer. Their debut album, The Moog Cookbook, released in 1996, featured instrumental covers of contemporary alternative rock hits. The duo's second album, Ye Olde Space Bande (1997), included covers of classic rock tracks. Notable collaborations include contributions from Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo on the track “Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love” and a performance on MTV in full space regalia. The Moog Cookbook disbanded in 1998, citing financial viability issues despite critical acclaim. In 2004, they reunited to record “Bob's Funk” for the soundtrack of the documentary Moog. Their final release was the limited edition Christmas EP Xmas Recipes (Y Mas) in 2014.
