The Maytones, a Jamaican reggae vocal duo comprising Vernon Buckley and Gladstone Grant, formed in the late 1960s. They gained local hits with "Loving Reggae" and "Funny Man" while working with Alvin Ranglin. The duo's roots reggae style emerged with tracks like "Judas", "Babylon a Fall", and "Run Babylon". They achieved success with the album Madness in 1976, which included the hit single of the same name. Following this, they released albums such as Boat to Zion (1978) and Keep The Fire Burning (1980). The duo disbanded in 1980 when Buckley moved to Canada.
