The Home Team is an American indie rock band from Seattle, formed in 2013. Comprising Brian Butcher (vocals), John Baran and Ryan Murgatroyd (guitars), Rob Saireh (bass) and Daniel Matson (drums), the quintet flirts with pop punk and opens its field to melodic indie rock with power chords from the two incisive guitars, kneading a raw, energetic sound with dynamic rhythms and introspective lyrics. Influenced by alternative rock bands of the 1990s, The Home Team develop an aesthetic that is both melodic and rough, capturing the essence of the contemporary American alternative scene. Over the years, following the Black Sheep EP (2014), they have released critically acclaimed albums, among them Better Off (2018), Slow Bloom (2021) and The Crucible of Life (2024), whose deluxe version, expanded to fifteen tracks in 2025, includes the hit "Worthy " (#25 on the US Hard Rock Songs chart).
