The Gibson Brothers

Award-winning bluegrass / Americana group The Gibson Brothers was formed in Plattsburgh, New York in 1987. Founded by brothers Eric and Leigh Gibson, they eventually brought in Mike Barber (bass), Clayton Campbell (fiddle), and Jesse Brock (mandolin) to fill out their line-up. They are known for their close harmonies, skillful picking, and songwriting. Blending traditional bluegrass with country and rock, they managed to build up a following with albums such as Underneath a Harvest Moon (1994), Long Forgotten Dream (1996), and Spread Your Wings (1997). Alongside audiences, they also won many International Bluegrass Music Association awards (IBMA), beginning with Emerging Artist of the Year in 1998. They were also honored with Song of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year awards over the years from IBMA. They’ve also won similar awards from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America. Their later catalog includes albums such as Bona Fide (2003), Red Letter Day (2005), Ring the Bell (2009), They Called it Music (2013), In the Ground (2017), Mockingbird (2018), and Darkest Hour (2023). Over the years, The Gibson Brothers’ songs have topped the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey charts.
