The Nashville Bluegrass Band

The Nashville Bluegrass Band is an American bluegrass band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 1984. They initially backed Vernon Oxford and Minnie Pearl. In 1985, they signed with Rounder Records and released their debut album My Native Home (1985), produced by Béla Fleck. They toured extensively, becoming the first bluegrass group to perform in China. They released the Grammy-winning albums Waitin' for the Hard Times to Go (1993) and Unleashed (1995). After a brief hiatus in 1998 following the departures of bassist Gene Libbea and mandolinist Roland White, they experienced a resurgence following vocalist Pat Enright's involvement with the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?. Other notable albums include New Moon Rising (1988) and Twenty Year Blues (2004).
