The Eames Era

The Eames Era was an American indie pop band formed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2002 by New Orleans guitarists Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner. The quintet initially consisted of Widmer, Joyner, drummer Greg Gauthreaux, bass player Brian Waits, and singer Ashlin Phillips. The band's name honored famed designers Charles and Ray Eames. In 2004, they released their first EP, Second EP, which included the track "Could Be Anything" that gained significant airplay on college radio stations nationwide and was featured on television shows such as Grey's Anatomy. The band signed to C Student Records and released their debut full-length album, Double Dutch, in October 2005. In April 2007, they released their second full-length album, Heroes + Sheroes. The band disbanded in April 2008 after Ashlin Phillips and Greg Gauthreaux moved to Chicago.
