The Dubrovniks

Formed in Sydney in 1986, The Dubrovniks are an Australian alternative rock band, oscillating between garage rock and power pop. Having become one of the leading figures on the underground scene, their reputation quickly spread beyond Australia's borders with their debut album Dubrovniks Blues (1989), followed by Audio Sonic Love Affair (1990) and Chrome (1992). Led by Boris Sujdovic and James Baker, bassist/guitarist/vocalist and drummer respectively, well-known members of The Scientists and Beasts of Bourbon, the band also featured guitarist/pianist Peter Simpson in 1988-1990, guitarist Roody Radalj in 1988-1989, replaced by Christopher Flynn, and Tony Thewlis (briefly on guitar). The band, which broke up after the release of the Medicine Wheel album (1994), has been back together since 2015, though without recording a new album.
