The Del-Byzanteens

The Del-Byzanteens were a New York-based punk rock band active in the early 1980s. The band included Phil Kline on vocals and guitar, Jim Jarmusch on vocals and keyboards, Philippe Hagen on bass, Josh Braun on percussion and drums, and Dan Braun on drums and percussion. They released their first EP, Girl's Imagination, in 1981, followed by the LP Lies to Live By and the single "Draft Riot" in 1982. The Del-Byzanteens played at notable venues such as CBGB and Hurrah in New York City. Their debut LP received critical acclaim from Hot Press. The band disbanded without officially releasing two additional tracks recorded in 1985-86.
