The Dawn

The Dawn, a Filipino rock band, was formed in 1985. The original lineup included Teddy Diaz on vocals and guitars, JB Leonor on drums, and Clay Luna on bass; Jett Pangan later auditioned and was selected as lead vocalist. Their breakthrough came with the demo "Enveloped Ideas", which topped the charts at DWXB 102.7 radio station in 1986. The band signed with OctoArts International and released their self-titled debut album, The Dawn (1987), followed by I Stand with You (1988). Diaz was stabbed to death in 1988. Despite this loss, the band continued, releasing albums like Beyond the Bend (1989) and Puno't Dulo (1994). The Dawn disbanded in 1995 but reunited for a one-off show in 1997 before officially reuniting in 1999. They released Prodigal Sun (2001), followed by Harapin (2004) and the compilation album The Story of The Dawn: The Ultimate OPM Collection (2001).
