The Bloody Beetroots

The Bloody Beetroots is the name of a masked group created in 2006 by Italian DJ Robert Rifo who goes by the name Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo. He has been joined by DJs Tommy Tea and Steve Aoki, vocalist Dennis Lyxzén from the punk band Refused, Battle on synthesiser and drummers Edward Grinch and New Mad Harris. Trained classically, Rifo played a range of styles on his early singles and EPs and in 2009 he released his debut album 'Romborama' which featured a mix of house, electronic, hip-hop and rock. He toured internationally with a group he called The Bloody Beetroots DJ Set and in 2013 released a hardcore house recording titled 'Hide', which went to number 12 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart. An electronic dance album, 'The Great Electronic Swindle', came out in 2017 featuring the singles 'Pirates, Punks & Politics', 'Saint Bass City Rockers' and 'My Name Is Thunder' with Jet, which reached number 35 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs Chart. The Bloody Beetroots tracks have been featured on several video games such as 'FIFA 09', 'Pro Evolution Soccer 2012' and 'Saints Row IV'. They embarked on the My Name Is Thunder tour of North America in 2017.
