The Beautiful Girls

The Beautiful Girls, an Australian roots music group, were formed in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Mitchell Connelly, and Clay MacDonald. Their mini-album Morning Sun was released in March 2002, followed by the EP Goodtimes in November of the same year. The band's first studio album, Learn Yourself, came out in September 2003. Their album, We're Already Gone, peaked at number 19 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2005 and featured guest vocals by Julia Stone. Subsequent albums included Ziggurats (2007), which reached number 21 on the Australian albums chart, and Spooks (2010) and Dancehall Days (2014), both of which debuted at Number 1 on the Australian Independent Chart. The band toured extensively internationally.
