The Bathers is a Scottish chamber pop band formed in 1985 led by singer-songwriter Chris Thomson. The band released their debut album Unusual Places To Die in 1987 on Go! Discs Records, followed by Sweet Deceit in 1990 on Island Records. They then released three albums on Marina Records: Lagoon Blues (1993), Sunpowder (1995), and Kelvingrove Baby (1997), before issuing Pandemonia in 1999 on Wrasse Records. In 2001, they released Desire Regained, a compilation of re-recorded material. After fifteen years of inactivity, The Bathers reformed in January 2016 for live performances and subsequent activity, later releasing Summer Lightning (2022) and Sirenesque (2023).
