Tamsir

A shadowy figure in Ivorian music, Tamsir appeared on the cultural scene in Côte d'Ivoire in the late 2010s. He began rapping on a few tracks, then discovered the mechanics of production and arrangement, which fascinated him. Determined to move in the direction of composition, Tamsir takes the beatmaking direction and leaves singing aside, two activities he deems irreconcilable. Taken under the wing of Ivorian producer Shado Chris, Tamsir gradually refined his creations and was spotted by some of the biggest names in African music: DJ Arafat, Boningo and Dobet Gnahoré came to work alongside him. His collaboration with Ivorian rapper Didi B catapulted him to the forefront of the music scene. Already at work on "Mojaveli " (2018), the duo evolved together, and Didi B's aura helped Tamsir grow, as he signed to Universal. In 2022, the hit "En haut", featuring Didi B, Tamsir and JR Low, racked up millions of listens and made the young composer one of the country's hottest producers.
