Syria

Cecilia Cipressi, known professionally as Syria, was born on February 26, 1977, in Rome, Italy. She is an Italian singer who gained recognition through her participation in the Sanremo Music Festival. In 1996, she won the Newcomers competition with “Non ci sto” and competed in the Big Artists category the following year with “Sei tu”. Syria’s debut album, Syria, was released in 1996, followed by Come una goccia d’acqua in 1997. She continued to release albums including Le Mie Favole (March 2003), Non è Peccato (May 2005), and Scrivere Al Futuro (May 2011). In addition to her music career, Syria worked as a vocal coach on the talent show Star Academy in 2011 and as a juror on TOP DJ in 2016. She also performed as a stage actress alongside notable figures such as Paolo Rossi and Francesco Paolantoni.
